Isaiah 41:10

"Do not fear, for I am with you"

Change your outlook on being a Christian

I think a Christian can look at a beautiful sunset and enjoy it more than anyone else, because the Bible says God has given us as Christians all things to richly enjoy. There is a deeper level of appreciation on our part. We can appreciate the simple things in life and find more pleasure and more fulfillment—not because we are looking to things, but because we are looking to God.

Consider the words of Psalm 1:1: "Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful." Here, the word "blessed" means, "Oh, how happy."

So if you want to be a happy person, then walk with God as closely as you can, as opposed to trying to figure out how much you can get away with and still be a Christian!

Gregg's Story

It is a response that really makes me think and look back to 1973 when I was only 13 years old. I had such a strong desire even at that young age to become a United States Marine. It was hard then to express to people why I felt that way. Of all of my time spent in service to this country, I spent many years stationed overseas in the Middle East under the same circumstances and conditions very similar to those experiencing in Iraq and Afganistan. Now it is evident to me that through my years of service in the Marines, God was preparing me for an even greater time of service that would change my life forever!

Now I have a new burning desire to serve and be a vessel for the glory and honor of our Lord Jesus Christ. Unlike when I was 13, this desire is clear and full of purpose and I know that He has a mission like no other for me. My prayer for this time of service is that I will become a Voice for American Christian Veterans that have been quieted by fear, death and Depression from PTSD, Combat Fatiuge or Substance and Doimicic Abuse.

That is why this blog is called Shepherd's Grip, "God's Gospel revealed is Powerful", but in realitily it should be called the “Voices of the Quiet.” This is were I hope that I will be chronicling their stories of fallen men and women. Hoping for the "World" and finding the "WORD"of Christ Jesus and a new Life forever.

Most of all, I want to express my gratitude to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for His love and trust in me. It is only through Him that any of this is even possible.
